Claims Support
When something happens, start here.
An accident or loss can feel overwhelming. Begin with safety, document what happened, and report the claim as soon as you reasonably can. Farm Bureau’s claims team and Christine Hoard Agency are here to help you understand the next step.

Safety comes first.
Move away from immediate danger if you can do so safely. If anyone is injured, a fire is active, a roadway is unsafe, or emergency help is needed, call 911 before reporting the claim.
Immediately After a Loss
Four first steps that can help.
Every situation is different, but these actions can help protect people, preserve useful information, and begin the claim efficiently.
01
Protect people first
Get everyone to a safe location. Call 911 when medical, police, or fire assistance is needed.
02
Prevent additional damage
Only if it is safe, take reasonable temporary steps to keep damage from getting worse. Save receipts.
03
Document what happened
Take photos or video when possible and record useful names, dates, locations, and incident details.
04
Report the claim promptly
Report online, call Farm Bureau’s Claims Reporting Team, or contact Christine for help getting started.
What to do for common types of claims.
Use these as general first steps. Follow instructions from emergency responders and your assigned claims representative for your specific situation.
After an Auto Accident
- Move to a safe location if possible and call 911 when anyone is injured or the scene is dangerous.
- Contact the police so the accident can be documented.
- Photograph vehicle damage, the scene, and relevant road conditions when it is safe.
- Collect the other driver’s contact, vehicle, insurance, and license-plate information.
- Gather witness information, if available, and avoid debating responsibility at the scene.
- Report the claim by calling 877-324-6764, using the online form, or contacting Christine.
Your claims representative can provide direction about towing, repairs, a rental vehicle, and other next steps that may apply to your claim and coverage.
After Property Damage
- Leave the property and call 911 when fire, electrical hazards, structural damage, or another immediate danger exists.
- Contact the fire or police department when the incident should be officially documented.
- Take photos or video before moving or cleaning damaged property, when possible.
- Report the loss promptly to Farm Bureau or Christine.
- Take only reasonable temporary measures needed to prevent additional damage, such as emergency water mitigation or covering an opening.
- Keep receipts and wait for guidance before making permanent repairs, discarding damaged items, or completing major cleanup.
If your home cannot be safely occupied, tell the Claims Reporting Team. Your representative can explain what assistance may be available under your policy.
Farm or Business Loss
A farm or business loss may affect property, equipment, vehicles, employees, customers, or the ability to keep operating. Report it promptly and explain any immediate operational concerns.
- Protect employees, customers, family members, and animals from danger.
- Notify emergency services or appropriate authorities when needed.
- Document damaged buildings, inventory, equipment, vehicles, and affected areas.
- Preserve records related to damaged property and resulting expenses.
- Make only safe, necessary temporary repairs and retain receipts.
- Tell the claims representative about time-sensitive business or farm needs.

Before You Report
Helpful information to gather.
Do not delay emergency help or claim reporting just because every detail is not available. When possible, having the following information nearby can make the initial report easier:
- Your name, contact information, and policy number if available
- The date, time, and location of the incident
- A brief factual description of what happened
- Names and contact information for people involved or witnesses
- Vehicle, property, equipment, or item details
- Police, fire, or incident report information
- Photos, videos, estimates, receipts, or other relevant records
